Accessibility Statement

At Seven Hills Law Firm, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for individuals of all abilities. We believe the web should be open, usable, and accessible to everyone, and we continuously apply relevant accessibility standards to improve the experience for every visitor to our website.

(1) Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three conformance levels: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Seven Hills Law Firm website (sevenhillslaw.com) strives to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We actively work to maintain and improve compliance across our homepage, practice-area pages, FAQ, contact page, and appointment-booking workflow.

(2) Accessibility Features on This Website

To support a barrier-free browsing experience, we have implemented several proactive features across our WordPress platform:

  • Assistive Accessibility Tool:
An on-site accessibility interface (available via the badge in the lower corner of your screen) lets visitors customize their viewing preferences, including text size, line height and letter spacing, readable and dyslexia-friendly fonts, high-contrast and monochrome modes, link highlighting, a reading guide and reading mask, and pause-animation controls. The tool also offers preset profiles for vision-impaired, seizure-safe, ADHD-friendly, and screen-reader use, and can display the site in more than 40 languages.
  • Keyboard Navigation:
Core page elements, the main menu, and primary call-to-action buttons (including “Contact Us” and “Book Appointment”) are designed to be navigable using standard keyboard controls. A “Skip to content” link is provided at the top of every page.
  • Semantic Structure:
Pages use structured heading hierarchies and ARIA labels where appropriate to assist screen readers.
  • Responsive Scaling:
Content adapts to varying screen sizes and browser zoom levels without loss of functionality or horizontal scrolling.

(3) Known Limitations and Non-Accessible Content

While we strive for comprehensive accessibility, certain areas of our site currently have limitations. We are actively working on solutions for the following known areas:

A. Brand Color Contrast

Certain brand color pairings used in decorative and accent elements may not fully meet the 4.5:1 WCAG contrast ratio for normal body text. We are reviewing our design system to introduce higher-contrast variants while preserving our visual identity.

B. Third-Party Integrations and Plugins

Our website integrates third-party tools and embedded services — including our online appointment-booking system (Square Appointments), contact forms, social media links, and analytics or cookie-consent tools — to deliver its functionality. Because the underlying code of these platforms is outside our direct control, they may present occasional compatibility issues with screen readers or keyboard navigation. We advocate for accessibility improvements with our vendors and seek accessible alternatives where feasible. If you have difficulty booking an appointment online, you can always call us directly at (415) 450-9647.

C. Documents and Media

Certain downloadable documents, forms, or PDF resources shared with clients may lack full programmatic tagging, alternative text, or an optimal reading order for assistive technologies. Some images and graphical elements may not yet include complete descriptive text. We provide any document in an alternate format on request.

(4) What We Are Doing to Improve

Digital accessibility is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time project. To achieve and sustain the highest possible accessibility standards, we have integrated the following processes into how we maintain our website:

  • Routine Audits:
Regular automated and manual reviews using accessibility inspection tools (including Lighthouse, WAVE, and axe DevTools) during ongoing website maintenance.
  • Ongoing Content Remediation:
Progressively adding descriptive alt text to images, optimizing form labels, and improving link context across all practice-area and informational pages.
  • Design and Component Testing:
Testing new pages, interactive elements, and navigation updates across multiple modern browsers, devices, and screen-magnification settings before release.

(5) Feedback and Contact Information

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Seven Hills Law Firm website. If you encounter accessibility barriers, experience difficulty using any part of our site, or need information or documents in an alternate format (such as plain text, large print, or a high-contrast PDF), please let us know:

When reaching out, please include:

  • The URL (web page address) of the material you tried to access.
  • The specific issue you encountered or the assistive technology you were using.
  • Your preferred contact details and the document format you require.

We aim to acknowledge and respond to accessibility inquiries within 3 to 5 business days.
